A merry party sailed from East River on Capt. Miles’ boat, the Effie Estelle, on Tuesday morning last. Their destination, the Jamestown Exposition in Norfolk. Among those on board were Capt. Willie Miles and wife and daughter, Miss Effie Miles, Miss Clara Miles, Miss Dola Lawson, Miss Hyacinth Williams, Miss Annie Ferguson, Dr. Perry Miles, Messrs. S.P. James and Earnest Hudgins.
Candidate’s Card: To my fellow citizens of Mathews Co., Upon the solicitation of my friends I have decided to be a candidate for Sheriff to be voted for Nov. 5.
