Lost: A brown leather silver mounted pocket-book containing a pencil and ten cents and a memorandum; lost on Monday afternoon between Mr. Leonard Callis’ store and the road leading to Port Haywood. Reward if returned to the Journal Office.
We are sorry to report that Mr. J.L. Callis of Gwynn’s Island, who for the past three months has been suffering from a complicated liver and kidney trouble, with addition to the psychic nerve, is convalescing slowly. Mr. Callis is amon the oldest inhabitants of the island and is loved by all. We trust that the means being used for his restoration may meet with our most sanguine homes, and that a speedy recovery may be effected.
We are sorry to report that pneumonia and grip has invaded the home of Mr. Luther Owens of the island. His little 11-year-old girl is suffering from the double pneumonia, and is quite ill. His wife is suffering from an attack of the grippe. The distres...
