After a lengthy delay due to the pandemic, the state champion Mathews High School boys’ basketball team finally got a chance to celebrate its incredible season on Sunday evening with a banquet at the Piankatank Ruritan Club building. A highlight of the evening for the boys was receiving their championship rings, which had been provided by Mathews dentist Dr. Ben Lennon.
