The Dragon Run
A unique ecosystem which has been ranked second in ecological significance among 232 areas of the Chesapeake Bay region by the Smithsonian Institution. Try a paddle tour with the Friends of the Dragon Run in the spring or fall to experience this wild, million-year-old swampland’s flora and fauna in a guided kayak tour. Reservations for tours open Sept. 1. Tours and donations fund the preservation of this natural gem.
Bay Aviation at Hummel Airport
Take to the sky and see the Rappahannock and Piankatank rivers from a bird’s-eye view. For those who have an adventurous heart, choose the open cockpit Warbird PT-19 with optional aerobatic maneuvers like rolls, loops and spiral descents. For those who want a serene, scenic Chesapeake Bay tour, select the Cessna 172.
