Capt. Virginus Machen of Bohannon, gave a delightful sail on Saturday evening with Mrs. Rose Machen as chaperone. Misses Maude Vandervort, of West Virginia, Martha and Maude Minter, Agnes Green, Ruby, Lillie and Elizabeth White, of Wiggle Town, Edna and Lola Lane, of Tennessee; Messrs. Walton Hubbard, Lloyd and Chas. G. Snead, of Lancaster, Hall Raymond, of Baltimore, and Emmet Machen, of Mobjack, were Capt. Machen’s guests.
The “Mobjack” made its usual excursion trip to our port on Sunday, bringing up a large number of excursionists.

Union temperance services were held at Westville last Sunday morning and at Central Sunday night. Rev. J.D. McAlister, Secretary of the Anti-Saloon League, delivered a very strong address at the morning service and also at Bethel in the afternoon. Mrs. Weeks, W.C.T.U. organizer for Virginia, conducted the night services at Central.
