Laban: Christmas passed off quite lively in this vicinity, weddings and parties being the chief feature of the season. Four marriages were celebrated at Bethel in two days, all of which I have seen in the Journal heretofore. The writer joins with a vast circle of friends in wishing each of the happy couples much success.

Botetourt School News: For a year and a half we have been acting as janitors, and for being such good janitors Santa Claus left us a Victrola and a few records. On Jan. 1, the High School and Faculty had a party in the Auditorium. Each grade was arranged in their class colors. The “Freshies” were made to wear white stockings. Candy and apples were served. Our Victrola afforded us much pleasure.
