A big crowd attends the school fair in Mathews

The School Fair held at Mathews C.H. on last Saturday was an unqualified success. The large number and superior quality of the exhibits evidenced the interest felt by the little ones and the energy which they put in the effort. All departments showed good work and it would be hard to say which had the superior exhibits.
The largest crowd seen at Mathews C.H. for many a day was in attendance and crowded the Junior Order Hall to its utmost capacity, many not being able to enter at all. Preparations were begun that day for a greater fair next year. Supt. Percifull assessed the County School Board $100 toward the premiums and the public are expected to contribute liberally for that purpose. The crowd present Saturday seemed to enjoy themselves very much and especially to appreciate the declamations and spelling match.
