Robert Minor of Gwynn’s Island placed seventh in the U.S. National Oyster Shucking Championship Contest, which was held last weekend during the St. Mary’s Oyster Festival in Maryland. Minor is the reigning Virginia state shucking champion and a seven-time winner in Virginia. He won the state title at last year’s Urbanna Oyster Festival.
