An opening reception for the Art Speaks on the Bay 2018 Juried Art Show will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, at the Bay School Community Arts Center, Mathews. The public is invited to attend.
The show will feature 69 Virginia artists and will run through May 29.
Joe Seipel is the juror, and Lester Van Winkle is the judge. Seipel, a sculptor, has selected 81 two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces from 354 entries to be featured. The works represent over 15 artistic media. Thirty-two new exhibitors join 37 Art Speaks veterans for this year’s show.
Van Winkle, another sculptor, will select 12 winning pieces from the group and will award cash prizes to the artists at the opening reception.
In addition to the Judge’s Awards, the show will feature a Founder’s Award, selected by Bay School founder Wendy Wells-Finn. It will also offer three additional awards: the Juror’s Award, selected by Seipel; a Gallery Partner Award, selected by Betsy Henderson, ...
