6655 Main, Gloucester’s new steak and seafood house, opened for business Sept. 5.
Art and Patsy Britto of Gloucester previously owned Rosemary and Wine restaurant and wine shop at the same leased space on Main Street with Britto’s mother, Mary Amos, who has retired to New Jersey. They closed the restaurant for three months, giving them time to refurbish the place, including new lighting and paint.
Art is the chef and Patsy manages the front end of the restaurant. 6655 Main is now open seven days a week, serving lunch and dinner Monday-Saturday and brunch on Sunday.
Daily specials are offered, often featuring seasonal items not usually found on the regular menu. Art said they plan a seasonal menu.
The menu includes some favorites from their previous restaurant including "three-generation pasta," fish and chips, and fried oysters. They’ve added hand-cut steaks, fresh scallops and other dishes.
