Deloris Stokes has raised $5,720 this year, with her church, First Morning Star Baptist, Bena, for the Gloucester United Emergency Shelter Team (GUEST) program for 2024.
This is the fourth year that Stokes has led the fundraising effort. These funds are designated to keep the area’s homeless population safe from the elements.
Funds were raised through the donation of First Morning Star and its members, local business, family and friends. “On behalf of all who have given, it is greatly appreciated and may God bless each of you,” the church treasurer said.
