The Gloucester Main Street Preservation Trust has awarded six business applicants grants, totaling over $53,000, to improve their properties in the village.
Jenny Crittenden, executive director of the Main Street Preservation Trust, said the recipients and the grant amounts were:
—Edge Hill Shopping Center for its Phase 1 complete renovation that will showcase a new brick façade and side courtyard, $20,000;
—Ricky Wiatt for the renovation and new facade on the old Courthouse Barber Shop building, where he plans to move his landscape architecture office, Main Street Design Company, $20,000;
—Yolanda Teschner of "Yolanda’s on Main" received a grant to replace old awnings and update the landscaping at the front of her new location in a portion of the former Twice Told Tales building, $4,962.76;
—Fairfield Foundation received a grant for the continuing restoration project of the Texaco station building at the Main/Route 14 intersection, with...
