The Gloucester Daffodil Festival 5K and 2-mile Fun Run, sponsored by the Gloucester Rotary Club, drew a combined 431 participants Sunday afternoon.
The 98 participants in the 5K race ranged from several students ages nine and 10 to adults 59 years old.
Crossing the finish line first in the event was Lee Lockwood, 30, of Gloucester. Others among the top 10 (in order of finish) were: Justin Adams, 15; Eldridge, 50; Patricia Baines, 19; Dustin Harris, 26; Megan Hogge, 19; Kyo Cone, 45; Joseph Flint, 28, and Barney Hughes, 59.
Participants included a wide range of areas including Gloucester, Hayes, Ware Neck, Ark, Saluda, Providence Forge, Richmond, Mathews, Irvington, Chesapeake, Williamsburg, Yorktown and Mechanicsville.
The 2-mile Fun Run recorded 331 participants ranging from several pre-schoolers to adults. Petsworth Elementary School was awarded the participation trophy for 175 from the school involved, including 105 students, as well as parents and staff.
