4 public hearings on Tuesday’s agenda

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission will hold four public hearings during the regular meeting of the planning commission, beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the historic courthouse on Court Street.
Cobbs Creek Arts Center LLC has requested a permit to rezone the property at 61 Cobbs Creek Lane from Residential-2/Rural to Business-2.
According to the commission’s legal notice on the matter, the Business-2 District covers “that portion of the community intended for the conduct of general business not requiring waterfront location or access to which the public requires direct and frequent access, but which is not characterized either by constant heavy trucking other than occasioned by incidental light and noise or congregation of people and passenger vehicles.”
