Four local residents have bragging rights over big fish, having been newly listed in the Sept. 25 vasaltwaterjournal.com for their citation catches in the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament.
David Hildenbrandt of Hayes won a citation for a 7-pound, 4-ounce flounder caught Aug. 11 at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel;
Barry Waltrip of Gloucester caught and released a 25-inch sheepshead on Aug. 11 while fishing in Chesapeake Bay;Bradley Barrs of Hayes, fishing on Aug. 26, caught a 12-pound, 1-ounce sheepshead at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel; and,
Dallas R. Divelbiss of Bohannon caught a 6-pound, 8-ounce speckled trout on Aug. 31 in North River.
