3-day Independence Day celebration planned for Urbanna

The Town of Urbanna will celebrate the 4th of July over a three-day period next weekend, with a wide variety of activities to enjoy, including three bands, food, games, a boat parade, a golf cart run, and more.
A family fun festival will be held from noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, in Taber Park. For children and the young at heart there will be a rock-climbing wall, a foam party (bring a change of clothes), Batter Up with nerf balls, and a cornhole tournament. Day passes for the pool are $5.
DJ Hammer will play recorded music from noon to 4 p.m., followed by “The Michael Clark Band, featuring Tracey Clark” playing soul, R&B, and classic rock from 5-9 p.m.
Ron Joseph’s Strawberry Street Café food truck will be on hand.

Friday, July 5, will feature a town-wide yard sale, with a golf cart run scheduled for 10:30 a.m. in cooperation with the Urbanna Business Association. Participants should meet at 10 a.m. at Carts Inc. at 131 Grace Street. Call 804 207-3221 for details.
