25 years later

Bernard and Debbie Robins, featured 25 years ago in this column, return with more information about their cooking. Their lifestyle has changed as both have retired, but their dual style of making fabulous treats for family, friends and many special occasions has not.
Bernard and Debbie first appeared in this column in April 1992. Then they were working in the Gloucester County Public Schools. Though now retired from work, there has been no retirement from the kitchen. They still can work on the same recipe at the same time. For instance, Bernard explained, “If we happen to be making our sourdough rolls (one of their most requested dishes), or the ham biscuits (another very popular item), Debbie will mix the dry ingredients, I will make them off, maybe she will bake them and the order varies and can be reversed. That’s how we do all of our cooking. It’s teamwork.”
