St. Paul United Methodist Church at Susan celebrated its 225th anniversary Sunday. Events included recognition of individuals with the longest years of membership, top photo from left, Franklin Smith, 1939; Gertrude Hurst, 1942, Eileen Ripley, 1939, Arnold Ripley, 1937, the longest-serving member; and Annie Goin, 1947. Arnold Ripley was also recognized for his years of dedication and service to St. Paul and as the eldest living member. He is shown being recognized by the Rev. Dede Parrish, pastor, at right. The event began with morning worship with over 145 attending. Parrish presided over the service, with the Rev. James Maddox, past minister at the church, also speaking to the congregation. Following a fellowship luncheon there was an afternoon musical with various performers, and hymn histories.
