The Virginia Peninsula Chamber will present the 2024 State of the Region on Friday, Oct. 11 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Newport News – Hampton (980 Omni Boulevard, Newport News).
In the 2024 State of the Region: Hampton Roads Report, the Dragas Center for Economic Analysis and Policy at Old Dominion University analyzes the regional economy and tries to answer the following question: “What are the prospects for growth this year and beyond?”
The 2024 State of the Region is divided into six chapters.

Defense, the Port and Tourism: The Pillars of the Economy;
If You Zone It, They Will Come: The Supply of Housing in Hampton Roads;
Public Libraries: Enriching Lives In Hampton Roads;
Are Disability Rates Rising in Hampton Roads? and
The Greying of Hampton Roads.
