The 2024 Congressional Art Competition is now open to all high school students in Virginia’s First District, Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Montross) announced late last month. The deadline to enter this year’s competition is May 1.
The overall winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol along with contest winners from all other congressional districts nationwide. The winners receive the honor of having their art hung in the Capitol exhibition, and will also be invited to a reception in the U.S. Capitol held in their honor. “The commonwealth is home to incredible artistic talent and many bright young students—I encourage all young artists in Virginia’s First District to submit an original piece to this year’s Congressional Art Competition,” said Wittman. “I look forward to seeing the creativity of our Virginia students in their submissions.”
