The annual Advent Book provided free of charge by Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church is now available, a sign that Christmas is just around the corner.
The Rev. Dr. Ed Jordan, pastor of the church, said the book is “a collection of brief readings to consider each day leading up to Christmas. These brief stories help the reader to more deeply appreciate the things that make Christmas so special.”
He said the books will “really help you to get in the mood for Christmas, and to stay focused on the true meaning of the season.”
The people of Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church, located at 2011 Old Ferry Road in Gwynn, have written, published, and freely distributed these Advent books for the last six years. Jordan said, “We distribute them free of charge to anyone who wants one, as long as the supply lasts. This year 1,900 books were printed. Including this year’s books, our church has given out about 8,000 books freely in the communities we serve....
