2000 election

Election Day also marked a special occasion for Strigle and Price, who spent their birthdays serving the electorate. Of course, none of the local election officials that day had any idea of how the 2000 presidential election would turn out, as it was finally decided by the U.S. Supreme Court more than a month later in a 5-4 controversial decision, giving Florida’s 25 Electoral College votes, and the presidency, to George W. Bush, over Al Gore.
