The year 2024 ended with a happy surprise at the Piankatank River Golf Course for Travis Myers and George Cummings, each scoring a hole in one on Dec. 31. Myers (in left photo, at left, with Owen Myers, who witnessed the shot) made his hole in one on hole number 5 at 125 yards with a pitching wedge. Cummings (photo at right) of Mathews, scored his on #14 hole at 110 yards with an 8 iron into the wind. With Cummings witnessing the shot were Wayne Schwartz, Steve Saunders and Ed Lipinski.
