1,000+ visitors attend Gloucester Daffodil Show

The 2017 Gloucester Daffodil Show took place April 1-2 in the Botetourt Elementary School gym. More than 1,000 visitors viewed the many entries in the show, which is sanctioned by the American Daffodil Society.
The horticulture section had 1,045 stems entered, and there were 23 artistic design entries. In the third section for photography, 103 images were entered.
Three of the artistic arrangements were large-scale floor designs featuring the 2017 Daffodil Festival theme of a Native American celebration.
Attendees were invited to vote on their favorite, and the People’s Choice selection was announced just before the show ended at 5 p.m. Sunday. Amelita Thomas, Sandy Pait and Kristen Pritchard won for their Floor Design entry featuring Pocahontas.
The Daffodil Show also featured a Golden Touch display, where 65 residents of senior homes in Gloucester County made small arrangements featuring daffodils.
