More than 100 yogis gathered at YMCA/APYC Camp Kekoka in Kilmarnock for the 14th annual Kekoka Yoga Retreat. With beautiful weather and high spirits throughout, the event raised $20,000+ for camper scholarships.
The theme of this year’s retreat was Elevate, and 21 yoga instructors from around the area brought their distinctive styles to help participants experience growth, health, healing and connection.
“The people were all so friendly and accepting,” said attendee Meg Moberg. “I tried things that took me out of my comfort zone and yet felt so supported by those around me that it never felt scary.”
Classes and activities included yoga for all levels, Pilates, sound immersion, meditation and movement workshops, yoga nidra (yogic sleep), stand-up paddleboard yoga, group kayaking and a zip line, said Susan Johnson, who co-chaired the event with Art Gilbert.
